Сейчас стало модно сравнивать операционки по
http req/sec, по mails/sec.
Вот на что наткнулся в tech@openbsd.org:
I have several freebsd boxes running postfix that we pump our clients stock
pricing alerts into. After sending the <CRLF>.<CRLF> at the end of the each
smtp message, it takes around 100-130ms for the 250 Ok to come back.
Postfix will not return the 250 status until it verifies that it has written
the file to disk. I have softupdates enabled, and I have even tried a
memory filesystem for the queue, and I still get these terrible numbers
(that's under 9 messages/sec).
Now, with OpenBSD 2.9, that's a different story. I've enabled softupdates
on the partition with the queue, and I get my 250 Ok back in about 23ms,
over a 400% increase in speed. Why is this?

I get the same times
regardless of what hardware I put it on, and even using a memory filesystem
for my queue.
