Попробовал. Да, эти режимы на 85Hz он подхватил. xvidtune это подтвердил.
Кроме того, он еще взял все режимы VESA и некоторые так называемые
"default" режимы (Modeline'ы, которые жестко забиты в современные иксы),
включая interlaced и doublescan.
Причем, они default'ы, как и все, проверяет на корректность:

Вообще современные иксы с современным монитором можно пускать без
Modeline вообще - из DDC/EDID вытащат параметры и запустятся.
Другое дело, что в DDC лажу пишут и руками на порядок качественнее
получается на том же железе (читай - за те же деньги); на одном и том
же мониторе я получал:
1. 98Hz в 800x600 руками в иксах
2. 90Hz в том же режиме в винде с драйверами ATI Radeon
3. 85Hz в том же режиме в винде с драйверами S3 Trio3D.
"Почувствуйте разницу" :-)

P.S. А SciTech Display Doctor, которым на некоторых S3 я получал 100Hz на
DEC'овском мониторе, с S3 Trio3D вообще не работал.
