 Я тебе на всякий случай из vmware_ws2_support_en.pdf кусочек тут 
 скопировал, может найдешь чего:)
 От себя могу посоветовать отключить всю периферию в конфиге: флопари, 
 cdrom,.. Иногда помогает..
 Why do I encounter bugNr=2302 after upgrading to Workstation 1.1 for Linux?
 If you install Workstation for Linux 1.1 on a Linux host that had 
 Workstation for Linux 1.03 or earlier installed, you may encounter bug 
 number 2302 (bugNr=2302) on booting a virtual machine.
 This problem arises from the fact that Workstation 1.1 for Linux names 
 the vmmon module vmmon.o while Workstation for Linux 1.03 or earlier 
 named it vmmon without any extensions.
 This problem can be resolved by doing the following:
 Log in as root
 cd /lib/modules/*your-kernel-version-here*/misc
 ls -l vmmon* (the files vmmon and vmmon.o should both be listed)
 Verify that vmmon.o is newer than vmmon
 mv vmmon vmmon.old
 rmmod vmmon
 ./vmware-config.pl (this will reconfigure the modules and install them)
 Log out
 Log in as a user
 cd into a directory containing a virtual machine and run: vmware 
 ./file.cfg (where file.cfg is your virtual machine configuration file name)
 This bug is fixed in VMware Workstation 1.1.1 for Linux. Please download 
 the latest version of VMware Workstation for Linux.
