 motherboard E139761 TC430HX Natoma/Triton II, BIOS AMI 1.00.07.DH0
 modem Acorp FM-56PC/Conexant RCV56DPF-PLL L8571A ISA
 modem 3COM/US Robotics 56k Voice Model 5610/2976 PCI
 
 первый модем - Acorp выставлен перемычками
 второй модем, USR - без перемычек
 
 Ядро 2.4.23, при загрузке ругается на второй модем,
 
   /var/log/messages:

   ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
   ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
   ttyS02 at 0x03e8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

   ttyS04 at port 0xfff0 (irq = 10) is a 16550A
 
 После выставления IRQ через /etc/serial.conf:

 /dev/ttyS1 uart 16550A port 0x02f8 irq 3 baud_base 57600 spd_normal skip_test

 /dev/ttyS3 uart 16550A port 0x02e8 irq 11 baud_base 57600 spd_normal skip_test

 продолжает ругаться на ttyS3:
   ttyS3: LSR safety check engaged!
 Что поправить, чтобы заработало ? Что означает последнее сообщение ?
